I configured Squid for my home LAN, yay. For those of you that don't know what Squid is, it's a proxy server designed to cache what you visit. That way when a website is often visited by many people in your house, some of the files are stored on your LAN, speeding up load times. Initially it seemed a little slower but now it seems to be working nice and fast now, caching every website everyone in the house visits. Yay for open-source development.
Ironically Slashdot seems to load twice as fast now. Now for it to be installed at work.
