I'm now known as the big loser by all AP US History students at Craig High School. I managed to go from having over 140 million dollars (and over 1.2 billion on loan) and then to be 794,000,000 dollars in debt. The simulation was supposed to last 10 days and was a simulation of the 1920's. Logically it would crash at the end, however our teacher caught us by surprise and crashed it on day 5. Day 5 unfortunately was the day I planned to pull half my money out and have no fear of losing my commanding lead. Thanks to the ability to buy on margin (only having to put down 10 percent of your investment) I was able to accumulate a great deal of wealth in just 4 days (starting from 1,000). The plan on day five was that I would have almost 1 and a half billion dollars. I would be able to take that billion out and just sit on it for the rest of the game, and then reinvest the remaining portion without any margined money (ensuring I never fall below a billion dollars).
