Magazine Overload

How many magazines do you get? How many of those free magazine offers do you sign up for? Also, if you're looking for free magazines check out FreeBizMag.com and SlickDeals.

Back to my point. I get way too many magazines. I have been working to not renew many of the free ones though.

Currently I receive Network World, Network Computing, Computer World, Info World, Optimize, VAR Business, PC World, PC Magazine, Wired, Popular Science, Computer Gaming World, eWeek, Electronic Gaming Monthly, and Xbox Magazine. I only pay for Wired, which is well worth the dollar an issue.

As you can obviously that's way too many magazines to read and still keep a normal life so I've been looking for a good system to keep and read the articles I want. For starters I stopped resubscribing to the magazines that featured only one or two articles that I actually enjoyed. This has slowly lessened my flow of magazines, however I still get way too many. My next step has been to quit reading anything that bores me after the first paragraph, I used to have a habit of reading any magazine I ever got cover to cover. This has allowed me to get pretty quick at rifling through numerous magazines in just a few minutes. I'm finally starting to make a dent in the pile of magazines I have that are a few months old.

Let this serve as a warning to anyone out there, free magazines are dangerous.
