Unofficial Best Buy Employee

I made a terrible mistake today. I walked into Best Buy wearing a solid blue polo shirt of exactly the same tone the Best Buy employees wear. I'm walking through the store and was stopped not once, but twice to answer questions. Being the nice person I try to be, I answered the questions. The customers appeared not to notice that I wasn't a real Best Buy employee. I might have to go "work" for a few hours at some point in the future and answer everyone's questions with a joke and free sticker, now that would be a good time.

I used to work at Best Buy, and one day I needed to do some shopping CD after my shift was over. Not wanting to be asked questions by customers after I was off the clock, I decided to change into jeans and a white T-shirt before doing my shopping. So there I was, standing there looking at some CDs in an outfit that bears no resemblance to the uniform and gives no indication that I work there, when a middle-aged woman came up to me, asking, "Excuse me, mister, I'm wondering if you can help me find a CD." Seeing the surprised look on my face, she added, "I know you don't work here, but I was wondering if I could have your help anyway."

    The place is cursed.

I walked in there in some slacks and black shoes. Mind you, i had a white shirt on. And yet, somebody though "look at the nice pants" and proceded to ask me some questions. And this wasn't, "I know you don't work here." This was, "I somehow think you work here". Jesus.

When I walk into Menard's to get my check, I wear a t-shirt and shorts. Work wear is a blue vest and a collared shirt but ok. I must have that determined look of knowing where I am going that just says "Ask me!". These are the same type of people that once asked me, "Does Menard's carry tools?"

Jagger, the geek squad, if you can call them that, happens to wear slacks and a white shirt.

You should be flattered! You look like an intelligent person who knows technology. In fact, the customers probably know that the average person off the street knows more than the average Best Buy employee. ;)

I used to work LP (you know the guys that greet you at the door and work security) and the best question i ever got from someone walking in was... "do you guys have CDs?" I just looked at them looked ahead to the miles of CDs and then looked back at them and said yep sure do and then just sorta waves in the general direction of the cds.
