Chase to 50: Bucks vs Heat

This was part of my ticket package, so I was able to catch this game in person. I snuck my way into a fifth row seat for the second half of the game, so I was able to witness the true size of Shaq. This was the second time the Miami Heat have been in town this season, however Shaq missed the last game with an injury. Flashback to sometime around 1995. A young Jeramey Jannene attends a game with his father (and we can assume his younger brother too). They sit way up near the top. Shaq drops an ungodly amount of points on the Bucks (somewhere near 50) and the Bucks suffer their biggest loss ever losing by 52 points to the Magic. This was one of the few Bucks games I had been to as a kid and it helped cement a hatred of Shaq in my mind. Tonight, I thought, would be the neat I would avenge this memory and watch my Bucks destroy the monster known as Shaqzilla.

That was not to be the case. After a good start to the game the Bucks collapsed. The three point shooting was awful, with the team not making a single attempt until late in the third quarter. I will give the team a break with four players sitting out (Joe Smith, Mo Williams, Bobby Simmons, and Charlie Bell), however it was painful to watch the game. The matchup between big men (Magloire, Bogut vs Shaq, Udonis Haslem) played out to be fairly even. Bogut had a couple nice defensive plays. The battle of guards was lost by the Bucks however. With such a depleted roster they just didn't have it. Reece Gaines got some early playing time, which is a sign that things are not going as planned. The Bucks have a deep roster, which is why they were in this game in the early stages. They however managed to take themselves out of the game with their poor shooting and inability to stop Miami in the second half.

I did get to meet Gilbert Brown after the game. So if you're keeping track I have now met two former Green Bay Packers, but have not met a single Milwaukee Buck. Packer fans should just buy tickets to Bucks games to meet their favorite football players.

By the way, I didn't proofread this and I'm sure I made a typo somewhere along the way. I'm sorry (and lazy).
