Power of Tagging
Want to understand the reason I tag all my pictures online and give them a Creative Commons license? So when I surf the web late at night I can find them being used in random places. I found someone had added a picture I took of Miller Park to the Miller Park page on the Wikipedia,
Ny photos were added to the Miller Park, Bradley Center, Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Madison and Janesville pages on 43 Places legally without me having to do anything. As far as I can tell this was all done using the tags applied to my photos and the Creative Commons license I applied to my images. So what comes of this? Simple, more exposure for my work without me having to do any more work. It's pretty cool to know when people are checking out Miller Park and such on 43 Places that they'll be seeing my photos. An unintential consequence of tagging my photos, cool.
I can't wait to stumble across other uses of my work online.
It would be nice if there were some kind of trackback feature on Flickr, so I could see what sites were using my artwork. Just a thought
