Water Bottle Machine
MSOE installed this new water bottle dispensing machine in my dorm. It's like a high class pop machine where you can see what they have in stock. It had been empty for a few days and I expected to see all kinds of water in it and people running around campus with Dasani bottles. Ironically it's now filled with Rockstar and Von Dutch energy drinks. So much for being healthy.

Oh yea, and a hell of a lot of energy drink at that. It's a font of cold, syrupy, poor tasting, energy.

Water may be healthy, but bottled water is terrible for the environment. Why pay for something that you can get free from the tap?

Is free really better?

The tap? I've had my city's water tested, and I'm not drinking it. You'll note they say "Tap water is a good alternative in most places in the country." (emphasis on "most") I was also around for the cryptosporidium incident in Milwaukee years ago.
As for buying bottled water, 59 cents at the grocery store, with refills at 39 cents is probably cheaper than a vending machine...

Raster,
I was under the impression that Milwaukee (the city itself, I don't know about metro are) now has some of the best water in all the handle since the incident. Do you have something that would tell us something different?
