Senator Hatch Helps Free Convicted Criminal

Republican Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah helped organize the release of R&B producer Dallas Austin from a prison in Dubai. Austin was sentenced to four years in jail and deportation following his term after his conviction for posessing 1.26 grams of coccaine. Hatch, a musician himself, employs the same lawyer (entertainment lawyer Joel A. Katz) as Austin.

Interesting how a conservative Republican so obsessed with eliminating crime, getting drugs off the street, and making sure people don't download music illegaly is willing to free a rich American who did something that many would call "stupid". Money talks.
