University Club Tower (Update)

I had previously posted about how I thought it was short-sighted to be using lead in the construction of a new building, especially next to Lake Michigan.

I emailed architecture guru Whitney Gould at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, who had wrote the original article that got my interest. I don't want to quote her email reply, because she didn't give me permission (I didn't ask), but I'll summarize.

She stated that she doesn't have any concern over the use of the lead. It's baked into the rest of the metal and won't separate out. She noted that the previous concern was with lead based paint, and not lead mixed with other alloys.

Still doesn't seem like the brightest thing to do, but apparently it works.
