I can't believe the surge Lebron went on, taking the Pistons to double overtime and winning. Tayshaun Prince looked almost lost on defense at times, sad.

The Pistons better pull out a series victory, because I can't live knowing Lebron made it to the finals

Apparently, even whales lose their way sometimes. A mother and child have been lost in the California in-land waterway system for a few days now. Thankfully they're showing signs that they're heading back out to salt water.

Flickr View Count

How accurate is the Flickr view count and what is it counting? I delete a photo and the count doesn't go down. I add new images, watch their view counts rise, and the total count doesn't go up. Is the view count counting photostream views or individual photo views?

Consider me (three years into using the service) confused.

Don't you think laptops should have a lap mode? A mode where the processor slows down enough that the laptop doesn't lower your sperm count with the amount of heat it's giving off.

My HP laptop could certainly use one. I can't ues it on my laptop for very long without being concerned if I'm going to be able to father children.

Panera

I am not smart enough or rich enough to eat at Panera. I made the mistake of going there instead of Chipotle.

The menu is overwhelming and the prices are just a little higher than Chipotle (it should be noted that these two restaurants are within walking distance of me and immediately next to each other).

Chris Jordan has a seriously amazing collection of images online.

This new series looks at contemporary American culture through the austere lens of statistics. Each image portrays a specific quantity of something: fifteen million sheets of office paper (five minutes of paper use); 106,000 aluminum cans (thirty seconds of can consumption) and so on. My hope is that images representing these quantities might have a different effect than the raw numbers alone, such as we find daily in articles and books. Statistics can feel abstract and anesthetizing, making it difficult to connect with and make meaning of 3.6 million SUV sales in one year, for example, or 2.3 million Americans in prison, or 426,000 cell phones retired every day. This project visually examines these vast and bizarre measures of our society, in large intricately detailed prints assembled from thousands of smaller photographs.

In a nation struggling to break its addiction to coal power plants, is it not a telling sign when the nation's capital is powered by a coal power plant and we can't agree to get rid of it? In a situation that is becoming all too familiar, the US government is electing to continue to subsidize a dying industry instead of getting on the forefront of developing a sustainable, forward-thinking idea such as solar power.

Senators supporting the plant have been receiving massive campaign contributions from the coal industry. Go figure.

The Senate is nearly unreal with the extent to which it works for the corporations and not the people.

Nokia is the first company to equip its phones with a reminder to unplug your charger after your charge is complete. They estimate this move could save the power that is consumed by 85,000 homes a year.

According to Nokia, your phone charger when left plugged in consumes 1/3 the energy it does when charging your phone. Unplug your phone charger, save money.

This definitely pushes me towards buying a Nokia phone in the future. Consider it a reward for companies driving the principles of "Natural Capitalism".
